Our Story
1989 - 1993
The seeds for ClubLink were planted in 1989 when the Simmonds family bought Cherry Downs Golf Club. Mr. Simmonds analyzed the golf course business and drew up a business plan that would become the blueprint for ClubLink.
1994 - 1995
ClubLink began as a public company in 1993 which enabled it to buy King Valley Golf Club, Heron Point Golf Links and Emerald Hills Golf Club. Together with Cherry Downs, the ClubLink concept of reciprocal play was launched. ClubLink followed up on the success of the first four properties with the purchase of Greystone Golf Club in 1995.
1996 - 1998
ClubLink continued to acquire Member golf courses around the Greater Toronto Area, and also began expansion into the Ottawa area with the acquisition of GreyHawk Golf Club, Kanata Golf and Country Club and Club de golf Hautes Plaines. ClubLink also entered the Muskoka region of Ontario, building the Lake Joseph Club (named Best New Canadian Course by Golf Digest and SCORE Golf magazines in 1997 and 1998 respectively), and acquiring three resorts in the picturesque Muskoka region of Ontario.
1999 - 2002
ClubLink purchased Glen Abbey Golf Club, home of Tiger Woods’ dramatic 2000 Bell Canadian Open and Triple Crown victories. ClubLink also expanded into the Quebec market, purchasing Val des Lacs Golf Club and building Le Maître de Mont-Tremblant. ClubLink also built two new courses in Muskoka, Rocky Crest Golf Club, and Grandview Golf Club’s Mark O’Meara Course.
2003 - 2005
ClubLink unveiled Club de golf Le Fontainebleau, a new development in the Greater Montreal Area. Designed by acclaimed architect Darrell Huxham, Le Fontainebleau combines modern features such as large, moderately undulating greens and wide fairways with classically styled bold bunkers and mature woodlands. ClubLink then acquired National Pines Golf Club and opened Glencairn Golf Club, designed by Thomas McBroom sculpted Glencairn with all the beauty and spirit of Scotland’s most legendary courses.
2006 - 2009
The Country Club - which boasts three golf courses totaling 45 holes - joined the ClubLink family in 2006. And in 2007, the Greg Norman-designed Wyndance Golf Club opened. ClubLink also acquired Eagle Creek Golf Club and Club de golf Islesmere. In 2009, ClubLink assumed management of The Club at Bond Head, a 36-hole property.

Our most recent acquisition, Hidden Lake Golf Club, features a large practice facility along with two unique 18-hole championship courses. Hidden Lake earned the Burlington Post Reader's Choice Award winner for Best Golf Course and Best Golf Shop.
