It's Never Been a Better Time to Fly…

WestJet Airlines has always prided itself on its customer service. Now, the brand is in the midst of an evolution after two decades as Canada’s service-first airline, re-focusing on everything that makes WestJet great.

And ClubLink Members get to experience all those benefits first-hand.

John Pease, the Director of Corporate Sales for the Calgary-based airline, is thrilled with the long-standing partnership between ClubLink and WestJet, as it’s the official air carrier of ClubLink along with being a proud sponsor of the WestJet Men's Interclub presented by Unilock.

“We love to be involved with ClubLink,” says Pease.

Pease, who is a ClubLink Member himself, knows exactly what its like to love and share in the world of golf. But he’s a frequent business traveller as well, and for ClubLink Members who are travelling often between Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and even New York City, there’s no question WestJet should be the preferred airline.

“I know almost all the ClubLink Members are very successful. A lot run their own businesses or hold senior management positions. And, while WestJet is a strong low-cost carrier – those are our roots and we’ll never forget where we came from – we’re also a business carrier,” says Pease.

“We are open for business, and ready to assist you with all your business travel needs.”

WestJet flies more than 14 times a day between Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa and eight times from Toronto to New York-LaGuardia, and they make it simple. So much so that the brand name for that triangle of business-specific Canadian routes is ‘Simplicity.’

ClubLink Members looking for even more service benefits should also sign up for the WestJet Rewards program says Pease, especially if they are a frequent business traveller.

If you are a WestJet Rewards Gold member you have the opportunity for early boarding and priority screening, complementary bag fees and lounge access which is part of WestJet’s service promise for its Gold reward members.

Everything, Pease says, is made with the business traveller in mind – including complimentary wine and beer on flights between those three destinations.

“From a service standpoint, we have to make sure we compete effectively by having a superior guest experience,” he says.

The WestJet Rewards program is unique because members are actually earning dollars as opposed to points or miles. They are easily converted, and there are no blackouts because it’s simply dollar redemption off the purchase price, whenever the flight is.

“We recognize there is significant benefits from an earning perspective,” says Pease.

ClubLink Members who choose WestJet for their travel needs will be thrilled to find out the airline is closely partnering with Atlanta-based Delta Airlines, allowing WestJet Rewards members to earn dollars on Delta flights, and vice-versa. The entire Delta network – including Air France and KLM – is now partnering with WestJet, giving ClubLink Members even more options to get around the world.

“Entering into this joint venture with Delta will help our scheduling frequency between the two carriers and allow us to compete effectively on a global basis,” says Pease.

ClubLink, along with its travel-booking partner Merit Travel, will also continue to provide discounted airfares to its members moving forward, especially if a ClubLink member is eager to attend one of the three Pro-Am’s ClubLink hosts each year in fabulous destinations like Las Vegas or Palm Springs.

And when it comes time for ClubLink’s award-winning courses to close across Ontario and into Quebec, that doesn’t mean your membership is done for the year. ClubLink’s seven Florida-based courses are open 12 months of the year and thanks to WestJet, ClubLink members can enjoy discounted travel all year.

Pease says Florida remains a strong destination for ClubLink Members as vacationers as well as golfers.

Between the increased benefits for business travellers, the discounted airfares thanks to Merit Travel, and the commitment to premium customer service, there’s never been a better time to be a ClubLink Member choosing WestJet for all their travel needs.

WestJet is evolving into a full-service carrier with a laser-like focus on premium, business travel and the airline has recognized that fundamental to a happy business traveller is to have them be able to fly where they want to go, when they want to go.

“As an airline, we need to be cognizant of that in terms of how we evolved,” says Pease.

WestJet has also purchased 10 787 Dreamliner aircrafts from Boeing, a plane with global reach, flying 14,000 kilometres in a single trip. What that does, Pease says, is allow WestJet to fly just about anywhere in the world, another phase in WestJet’s evolution.

Whether you’re looking to check an item off your bucket list, escape the Canadian cold for a few mid-January rounds in Florida, or just zip between Toronto and Montreal for a key client presentation, WestJet is making things easier and more comfortable.

And as a ClubLink Member, it’s never been a better time to fly.
